DaVinci IQ

I recently received a DaVinci IQ vaporizer and I am very pleased with it so far.  Up to this point I have been using the Pax 2 and loving it but this may end up being my go to vape for “on the go.”

First off, the packaging is great and very sleek and includes the USB charger (yeah! a perk I didn’t have before with the older version of the PAX) and a couple of handy tools.  The unit itself is sleek and the door to the oven appears to be well made. I like the slant of the area around the oven.  It allows for the easy loading and less waste.  One of my favorite aspects of the PAX is the ease of loading and I was initially thinking the oven may be awkward to load but this was not my experience. Using the tool it is reasonably easy to pack and dump after use.  The oven is ceramic and it does really help with flavor.  I did not notice a burnt flavor or the need to fluff the oven.

The downside to the unit is my husband has noticed it is emits more odor than the my other vapes. This does not make it as discreet as it could be. Other than that I have not experienced any downsides.

Overall the flavor is great, the draw is easy and the unit is very sleek.  It fits in the palm of your hand and the USB charger is a plus that I am not used to. I get good results from the unit and it is a great option to add to your stash box.

Have you tried it? If so what are your thoughts?

Review: Weed the People: The Future of Legal Marijuana in America

I am reading this great book entitled Weed the People: The Future of Legal Marijuana in America by Bruce Barcott.  I selected this book to read because I am learning about the history or marijuana in my state and in United States. The author comes at the topic from an anti-marijuana view and learns along the way there is much more to marijuana than stoners eating Cheetos watching TV.  Personally what I find so interesting about this read is history in the making.  He covers Colorado and Washington as both states embark on the new recreational market and all the movers and shakers behind the scenes.

Once you learn more about why we view cannabis history and how we had the wool pulled over our eyes about the pros and cons of cannabis your views may change too.  I highly doubt that most Americans really know the history behind why we have fought the plant for so long. The mere 2013 statement broadcast on written on CNN’s website by their very own chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta stating “I am here to apologize. I mistakenly believed the DEA listed marijuana as a schedule 1 substance because of sound scientific proof.” He goes on to say the DEA had no proof though the government continued to deny the medical benefits of cannabis.  I found the earlier history of how the drug was scheduled in the beginning to be quite a fiasco and politically driven…..but then again isn’t everything?

This book is packed with current information and a good historical base to present the topics in an entertaining way that kept me engaged.  If you want to learn a modern view on where we are headed in this country in regards to medical cannabis and recreational cannabis check it out.  It is definitely a read worth your time.

DRIFT sublingual THC Spray

I was cruising around the internet looking for new cannabis niche products the other day and came across a new product that looked like it needed me. Drift spray is a sublingual spray (under tongue) that promises to be a great little product for anytime you are on the go and want a little pick me up. Drift is made by Mirth.

I had to call around to see if anyone near me carried the product and after a few calls I was able to locate it at Mary Mart in Tacoma. My friendly budtenders said it was new to their store and they had no feedback on it yet. We discussed how it would be nice if this new product actually didn’t have a flavor that may make one gag. I promised I would be the first one to update them as I planned to try it while out on the town.

The first thing you will notice is the sleek packaging. I am a sucker for a good logo and brand presence and this one has it.  I like the box it comes it and it appeals to the brand snob in me.  The spray itself does not disappoint.  I started with the recommended sprays and had to go up a bit due to my tolerance level.   The taste also does not disappoint but that said it is strong.  There is no way anyone will smell any cannabis with this product….it is minty fresh. I liked the effect and taste was a bonus because I expected something that tasted icky.

I called my local Budtenders at Mary Mart in Tacoma and updated them on my findings.  Told them the taste was good, dosing requires more than the packaging suggests (which is not uncommon due to the dosing laws here in WA.   It is discreet and definitely worth trying.
